It means I like your car.

(This is not an Oppo-directed rant but it seemed like a bad idea for a tattoo)

Kinja'd!!!

My first car for your patience and understanding.

Hey, $200 for 2.5 years wasn’t a bad deal!

So...

You’re ranting about people that think that because you appreciate the car they have they might think you appreciate them in a physical, flirtatious manner?

Yeah, those people have something off

It’s irritating that I have to be careful who I initiate a conversation with about a shared interest. I was eyeing an old ‘Vette today and got cat-called by the owner before I could even say a word. Never mind, buddy.

Oh, sorry about missing the point. When you get old and someone says nice car, you understand that they really mean “nice car.” :)

I called it the Jolly Green Giant.

We had to street park in a very well-to-do neighborhood for school. I had my arrival time down to a science to get there after they left but before the rest of the students showed up.

Hey, all fair, vague-posting rants to an unrelated audience means I deserve misunderstandings! Maybe I should get a t-shirt printed for car shows though.

I like it!

I probably would have purposely gotten there early enough to make the residents see it. At least a few times. I grew up in a wealthy town, so I enjoy offending their delicate sensibilities every now and again.

You’d definitely need to beat the other students, because that beast takes 1-2/3 spots to park.

“nice car!”

“yeah and I’m trying to keep it that way so BACK AWAY PLEASE”

Conversation from when I spotted an older guy filling up a current gen CTS-V. Nowadays I just avoid initiating conversation with old white dudes unless I’m at work

This is one struggle that as a guy I’d never even thought of.

Also I waived at what I thought was a matching Space grey LCI E90 today and the owner waved back which was cool, but then as we drove past each other I saw it was an E91(wagon) and I felt sad about my lack of long roof.

Yeah, that’s salt in a wound there. I wonder if the slow white Fiats I’ve waved at have had similar sads. They probably just think I’m loud and obnoxious.

Ouch, I can see that happening. I have a relative who probably does that to people.

I’m embarrassed to be an old white guy these days, this just adds one more thing to the list of embarrassments.

Eh. There are plenty of awesome ones. I met a 90 year old miata driver not too long ago. He’s an active member in the Miata forums and said that “the church ladies” won’t ride with him because of how he drives. He then proceeded to tell me in detail how to fix my exhaust rattle (turns out it was just a loose header heat shield) and then gave me pointers on improving my track day experience!

Another recent bad experience was an old dude let his (presumably grandson) drive his new Corvette to the gym. The kid bumped the splitter lightly against the barrier in the parking space and the dude just went crazy. Like top of his lungs screaming. Kid must have been about 15. So much for building an enthusiast...

I’d love to be the first guy at 90.

That old, white, Corvette driver isn’t breaking any stereotypes, and the kid will end up hating driving and cars.

I know if I drove a 500 and it wasn’t an Abarth I’d cry everytime I saw one.

But I’d also never own a 500 that wasn’t an Abarth.

I have a secret interest in the electric ones. I haven’t driven them, they’re probably awful, but from a design perspective I’m pretty sold.
